Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM) is celebrated in May to recognize the great things that people of Asian and Pacific Islander descent have done to shape today’s America.

This date was chosen because two important anniver-saries occurred during this time: the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants in America on May 7, 1843 and the completion of the transcontinental railroad (by many Chinese laborers) on May 10, 1869.

Earth Day's Top Ten
Girl Scouts are gearing up for Earth Day on April 22nd. Earth Day is held on this day every year to promote awareness of environmental issues and appreciate the Earth. Share the News!
