HOW TO ENTER:

All entries must be submitted by mail to CELEBRATE THE LEADER IN YOU CONTEST, GIRL SCOUTS OF THE USA, 420 FIFTH AVE., 15TH FLOOR NEW YORK, NY 10018 or online via electronic submission at www.gogirlsonly.org. Girls between the ages of 6-12 years old who complete the CELEBRATE THE LEADER IN YOU essay question (150 words or less) and parental/guardian contest release form will be entered into the CELEBRATE THE LEADER IN YOU CONTEST. All completed entries must be received by July 24, 2008 at 11:59 PM (EST) in order to be considered as an official contest entry for the CELEBRATE THE LEADER IN YOU CONTEST.

PRIZE:

Prizing is specified below. All winners will be selected based on originality, creativity, and overall content of their response. The grand-prize winner and all contest finalists will be notified that they have been awarded prizing from the respective contest prize levels by Girl Scouts of the USA by July 31, 2008.

CONTEST GRAND-PRIZE WINNER:

One (1) Grand Prize is available: One (1) Grand-Prize winner will be awarded a three (3) day/two (2) nights “Girl Scout NYC Adventure” in New York, New York. The Grand Prize includes: round-trip economy class air transportation for the Grand Prize winner and one (1) travel companion between the major airport closest to the Grand Prize winner’s residence and New York, New York; two nights’ hotel accommodations in New York, New York (one (1) room, double occupancy); ground transportation between the airport and the hotel; two (2) tickets for entry to the Bronx Zoo; and, for the Grand Prize winner only: one (1) $500 American Girl gift card; one (1) “Kit Kittredge” American Girl doll; and one (1) 2008-2009 membership to Girl Scouts of the USA, Girl Scout goodies (bag, book, magnet, pen and keychain), An American Girl^® Grace Dog, “Kit Kittredge” American Girl book and bookmark, and assorted “Kit Kittredge: An American Girl” movie promotional items). The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of the Grand Prize is $3,240. In the event that the winner cannot attend, the grand prize will be awarded to one of the five finalists.

Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable. Girl Scouts of the USA reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the awarded prize is unavailable for any reason.

Up to Five (5) Finalist Prizes are available. Each Finalist Prize consists of one (1) “Girl Scout” prize pack which includes a 2008-2009 membership to Girl Scouts of the USA, Girl Scout goodies (bag, book, magnet, pen and keychain), An American Girl^® Grace Dog, “Kit Kittredge” American Girl book and bookmark, and assorted “Kit Kittredge: An American Girl” movie promotional items. The ARV of each Finalist Prize $170 each. The total ARV of all Finalist Prizes is $850.

The total ARV of all prizes is $4,090.
