Great Book Recommendations
The Girl Scout Book Club is a chance to share your thoughts about books.
Here Girl Scouts from all over recommend great books for you to read:
Marina, 6, Louisiana
I love princess books that show how strong a girl can be, like Cinderella or Little Mermaid, I also like Dora and Arthur, and especially ones about keeping promises and having a sister. I don't have any sisters at home, but I have lots of sisters in Daisy Troop 582!
Lucy, 10, United Kingdom
I would recommend Utterly Me, Clarice Bean. It is really funny and it's my favorite book!
Livi, 12, Tennessee
I would recommend Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. It has a really good plotline. It teaches you to not judge others. You won't be able to put it down!
Ella, 9, Georgia
I recommend The Fairy Realm books by Emily Rodda. I love them because I love magic and magical creatures! So if you like magic too, you should read these books.
Jennifer, 11, Iowa
Read The Lightning Thief! If you like Greek mythology mixed with action and laughs, read this book!
London, 11, Vietnam
I would recommend Riding Freedom if you love horses, which I'm sure every girl does!
Cheyanne, 9, Missouri
I would recommend the Ramona books because they are like the real life of a girl.
Meme, 10, District of Columbia
I would recommend any books by Gwyneth Rees.
Laila, 7, California
I think that My Father's Dragon is a great book because when you read it, it takes your mind on a ride!
Jenny, 8, Connecticut
The book Aquamarine was great, I really enjoyed it. It is also a movie, but the book was different from the movie.
You, too, can share your thoughts about books: What book would you recommend to a girl your age? Why?
