I read a book called Neela: Victory Song and it was so good I read it twice! It takes place in India in 1936 and this 12-year-old girl named Neela goes to try and rescue her father! It's very good and has lots of history in it! I also learned a lot about different cultures! The author's name is Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.

I recommend The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. I like reading books by Kate DiCamillo who also wrote Because of Winn-Dixie. They are two of my favorites. In both books, the main character meets lots of friendly people and brings joy to their lives.
