Dear Dr. M and Molly,
I was in Spanish class at school and we were given an oral test so it was my turn and I start to read, and when I'm done my teacher says "that was horrible" and the guy I like was in the room. I was so embarrassed.

Dr. M's Answer

Dear Hannah,
Even if you hadn't done well on the oral test, your teacher could have found a better way to tell you that you needed to improve your performance. Humiliating you in front of everyone, including your crush, is not the best way to motivate you to do better. Keep in mind that your classmates probably don't care how you did on the test—they're too concerned about how they do and what the teacher says to them.

Liz's Answer
Dear Hannah,
The guy you like probably didn't mind that you messed up. If he likes you, it won't make a difference. Maybe next time you should study more for the test so you don't make a mistake. Also, if you don't think that you did that bad, ask your teacher why she said it was horrible. Maybe she could give you tips on how to study better. If what she said bothered you, tell her that you did not appreciate her saying that it was horrible, that it hurt your feelings. Hope all works out.
