Dear Dr. M and Liz,
I have a friend that doesn't enjoy hanging out with my other friend. They are both my BFFs and I have no clue what to do!

Dr. M's Answer

Dear Jessica,
Each of your BFFs might want you all to herself and be jealous of the attention you give to the other one. Since you obviously find something appealing about each of your close friends, you shouldn't have to choose between them. But you shouldn't force them to spend time together either. Just find separate times for you and each of your BFFs.

Liz's Answer
Dear Jessica,
When I was your age, I had the same problem with my two best friends. The worst thing was that all three of us were neighbors, so even if I tried to hang out with them separately, the other one would always find out and get mad. You can try to hang out with your two friends separately and then if you find something all three of you like to do, you can plan to do that together. If your two friends realize they have something in common that they can enjoy together with you, they probably won't have a problem hanging out with each other.
