Dear Dr. M and Liz,
My mom was divorced from my dad for almost all my life, and she won't even let me see him, but that's not the problem. My mom got together with another guy, and they have been together since I was five. They say they're going to get married sometime this year, but I don't want them to get married. He says it's so he could protect us with insurance, but I really don't care about that. Please help me. I'm desperate. Also, he hit me a couple of times too. Please help me again.

Dear Addie,
Talk to your mom about how you feel. It's really important that you tell her that her boyfriend hits you sometimes and explain the other reasons you don't want her to get married. |
