Dear Dr. M and Liz,
I have a problem. Too many people live in my house. What should I do about it?

Dr. M's Answer

Dear Arianna,
I know what it feels like to have a lot of people living in one house. When I was growing up, my family—my three siblings, my parents, my grandmother, and I—all lived together in a small apartment. It was hard to have any privacy and to find any space that was just mine. But I did learn to block out noise so I could concentrate on my school work. That's a skill that still comes in handy today. Although you don't have any control over how many people live in your house, you can control how you cope with your situation.
