Dear Dr. M,
My parents always make me do my sister's chores because she takes forever and a day to finish her homework. What should I do?

Dr. M's Answer

Dear Rebecca,
That doesn't seem fair to me. It sounds like you're being punished for being efficient in getting your work done, while your sister is getting rewarded for being inefficient. Talk to your parents about how the situation feels to you. Offer to help your sister with her homework so she'll have enough time to do her own chores.

Liz's Answer
Dear Rebecca,
You've obviously figured out helpful tips for getting your homework done. Share them with your sister. Although she might not appreciate your help right away—if they work, she'll have to do her chores—those tips will help as she gets older and has lots more work to do.
