Dear Dr. M and Molly,
I am one of the most popular kids at my school. I got glasses a few years ago and never told any of my friends. I know I'll be called a dork. They are embarrassing. Should I wear them or keep them a secret? I don't really need them. It's just my right eye. What SHOULD I do?

Dr. M's Answer

Dear Lisa,
It sounds like you do need glasses, so start wearing them. But before you go public with your glasses, tell your friends about them so they won't be surprised. Tell them you'd appreciate their support. With all the cool lens shapes and frame colors available today, you are sure to find a pair that looks good on you. Remember, you're one of the most popular kids at school. You might just start a trend.

Liz's Answer
Dear Lisa,
If these kids are your true friends then they won't judge you because you wear glasses. If they start to be mean to you, then maybe they aren't such good friends. You have nothing to be ashamed of—you're just trying to see better.
