Dear Dr. M and Molly,
At the school I will be going to, you have to run a half mile every day and a mile once a week! I can't run that far without stopping for a rest! But you have to do it. I'm scared! Help!

Dear Kaylee,
At first, running everyday may seem really difficult and you may have to stop a few times. After a few days though, you'll find that it won't be as difficult and the mile run will seem like nothing. When you get exercise everyday, your body and muscles build up and become very strong, so it will just get easier. Exercising is great. It makes you feel better and can improve your concentration in school. I run track, so you can trust me when I say that running is all in your head. It is up to you whether or not you stop and walk. Tell yourself that you can do it, and then you will feel so great at the end. Positive thinking can make a huge difference in your running. |
