Dear Dr. M and Molly,
When I wear a bra under a white shirt it shows but my mom says it doesn't. What should I do?

Dr. M's Answer

Dear Hanna,
Unless the fabric of a shirt is thick, a bra often shows through just a bit. Your mom is probably used to this look since she's been wearing a bra a lot longer than you and doesn't give it a second thought. But you're new to wearing a bra and more self-conscious, which is normal. Until you feel more comfortable, wear a camisole or a tank top on top of your bra to cover you a bit more under your white shirt or anything else that is a little see-through.

Liz's Answer
Dear Hanna,
If your mom says that you can't see your bra under the shirt, she is probably telling the truth. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, then you could wear a tank top under the shirt or just wear a different shirt. Don't wear the shirt if it makes you uncomfortable because then you will worry about it all day.
