Dear Dr. M and Molly,
I have really hairy legs and need to shave; I just don't know how to ask my mom. If she says yes, what if someone sees me shopping for a razor, what will they say? This is a hard question to answer but please can you answer it. Please please, PLEASE answer my question. HELP ME!

Dear Jojo,
Shaving is a big responsibility, so make sure you really need to shave and can't wait any longer. Once you start shaving, you will have to continue. At the right time, just be straight out with your mom and ask her if you can begin to shave your legs. Talk with her about it and decide together if it is the right time to start. Try not to feel nervous about asking her—she most likely had the same issue. If she says yes, don't worry about your friends seeing you buying a razor. It is nothing to be ashamed of; your friends will all eventually start to shave. Good luck shaving! |
