Dear Dr. M and Liz,
Sometimes I think that people are treating me different just because I've got diabetes. What should I do to make this stop?

Dr. M's Answer

Dear Lisa,
You seem not to be sure if people are treating you differently because of your diabetes, but if they are, you might want to help them understand your condition and what you need to do to take care of yourself.

Liz's Answer
Dear Lisa,
Next time someone treats you differently because of your diabetes, explain to them what diabetes is and what you have to do to treat it. Hopefully, if they understand it more, they'll see that it's no reason to treat you differently.
