Dear Dr. M and Liz,
I am not much of a tomboy (I wear makeup and shop) but I would like to become athletic for once in my life. Do I have to become a tomboy if I want to play softball, tennis, and/or golf? I know you can't answer every question you receive, but I desperately need to know! Do I have to be a tomboy?

Dear Carly,
Just because some girls who are athletic are tomboys, doesn't mean you have to be, too. You don't need to change who you are to play sports, just don't let your girly habits interfere with becoming athletic. |
