Girls Who are Making a Difference
On World Thinking Day, we think about our Girl Scout sisters all over the globe. Here are some stories from girls who are making a difference – in another country, and at home!
Rashida, 13, Canada
I'm actually not in Girl Scouts but I AM in Girl Guides! It's really fun and I like it very much. I think I've made a difference by bringing a friend to Girl Guides and just by being a more confident and nicer person, and it rubs off on other people.
Lauren, 13, Indiana
I've made a difference as a Girl Scout by thinking of others instead of myself in my troop, family and community. At school I made a difference as a Girl Scout because we had a new girl from Lebanon. Her name was Nora, and I stood up for her because people were making fun of the way she dresses, and kept calling her a terrorist. Nora and I have gotten to be good friends and it feels good that a kid can make a difference!
Rochelle, 10, Dominica
Hey everybody, my name is Rochelle. I am from the scenic and beautiful village of Dublanc. I am not a Girl Scout but a Girl Guide. My commissioner's name is Miss Agatha. I have a sister who is also a Guide. Her name is Georgann. She is 14 years old. It was nice sharing with you all. THANKS!
